A broadcaster was killed in an ambush by still unidentified assailants while his live-in partner survived the gun attack at a village in Surigao del Sur Tuesday morning.
In a report, Chief Supt. Rolando Felix, police director of Caraga region, identified the slain media practitioner as Christopher Ivan Lozada, 25, of Prime Time Radio, based in Bislig City.
Felix said Lozada’s live-in partner, Honey Faith Indog, who was hit by bullets in different parts of her body, is still undergoing treatment at the Andres Soriano Hospital in Bislig City.
He said Lozada and his live-in partner were on board a Toyota Vios enroute to their residence when shot by the suspects aboard a van with no license plate at the vicinity of P-5 Barangay Coleto, Bislig City at around 9:15 p.m.
Lozada died on the spot after the ambush.
Prior to the killing of Lozada, the radio broadcaster has received a threat message posted on his Facebook account by a still unknown sender last Oct. 12.
The message had warned Lozada that he only had 95 days to live.
“95 days nlang ka,” the message in Visayan language said.
Felix said the Bislig City Police Station is investigating the incident.
