The combat operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Marawi City have ended.
This was announced by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Monday.

On early Monday morning, government forces conducted a final assault in the main battle area.
About 30 to 40 Maute terrorists were reportedly killed.
The three children of Isnilon Hapilon and two foreign terrorists are believed to be among the fatalities.
AFP Spokesperson Restituto Padilla notes, although fighting has ended, clearing operations for explosive devices are still ongoing.
Troops found bodies of two soldiers beheaded and burned by Maute terrorists.
