The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office has produced 44 millionaires nationwide in the first three quarters of 2017, claiming more than P2.2 billion in lotto jackpot prizes, general manager Alexander Balutan said on Friday.

From January to September, 44 lucky bettors from different parts of the country who placed bets on PCSO’s popular lotto games correctly guessed winning six-number combinations.

The Lotto 6/42 was on the top of the list, producing 16 winners with a total of P319 million in prizes. The Mega Lotto 6/45 had nine winners taking a combined P460 million, Super Lotto 6/49 had eight winners worth P495 million, Grand Lotto 6/55 six winners worth P444 million, while Ultra Lotto 6/58 —the biggest lottery game offered by PCSO—produced five winners taking home P542 million.

“For every bet you make, for every P20 worth of lotto ticket you spend, P6 from that ticket price goes to charitable services of the agency, which helps people in need,” Balutan said.

The draws of PCSO lotto games are aired live at 9 p.m. over People’s Television Channel 4. Players select six number combinations (in any order) to have a chance at winning the jackpot prize, which they can claim at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City.

“The PCSO lotto games are here to serve its purpose, to help more Filipinos through charitable services and programs. We are happy every time someone wins any of our lotto games, because this will improve their lives instantly from poverty,” Balutan said.

He reiterated that PCSO is committed to responsible gaming to ensure people are protected from the adverse consequences of high-stakes gambling that may lead to addiction.

“We are always into responsible gaming. Please continue patronizing our lotto game products, because not only you have a chance to be a multimillionaire just like those lucky bettors who won, you are also helping less fortunate whenever you buy a lotto ticket, as 30 percent of its sales will go to charity, including health-related services of the agency,” he added.
