Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal will be buried on Thursday next week (October 26, 2017)
It will be at 9 am at the mausoleum of Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
Wake and public viewing for the remains of the Cardinal is taking place at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral until Friday.
His body will be brought to Saint Pedro Calungsod Shrine at D. Jakosalem Street in Cebu City on Saturday.
Pope Francis has sent a telegram to the Archdiocese of Cebu.
He said he is "deeply saddened to learn of the death of Cardinal Ricardo Vidal."
He added, "I extend my sincere condolences to you and to the clergy, religious and lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Cebu."
The 86-year-old Cardinal served the archdiocese for three decades before retiring in 2011.
He was born in Mogpog, Marinduque.
