RL edges Asurion in LGR Hoops 4

PAT Giron posted a triple-double performance in powering Team RL to a 77-70 triumph over Asurion at the Cloverleaf Gym.

Giron finished with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as Team RL notched its second win in four games of the Corporate Division.

But Giron wasn’t alone in posting a similar feat as Kenneth Agustin also came away with a solid performance in powering NSD Na! to a 101-91 triumph over DBBB 07 in the Neophyte Division.

Agustin led the way with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, towing NSD Na! to its second straight win in Group D of this event sponsored by Bugsy’s, Rain or Shine, Petron, Titan, NBA Store, Gatorade, BTV, Golds Gym, Zarks Burger, Kartilya, SYF and Ybalai.

As the playoffs of the LGR Hoops Season 4 approaches, several teams had kept their winning streak going, while other squads are jockeying for position to bolster their respective bids.

After six games,  DJ Construction and  RJS Construction remained undefeated in the Novice Division, leading their bracket in the team standings with identical 6-0 records, even as Nougat remains undefeated after five games.

In the Neophyte Division, Team Faithful continued its winning ways, going undefeated after six matches to lead all squads in this category.   

Another team remains unscathed in the same division – Adgrande/Wed, which carries a perfect 4-0 win-loss mark.

In the Neophyte Plus Division, Chiba leads the way with a 5-0 record.

The Corporate Division saw CW Home Depot going undefeated after six games to dominate the field, while Scoria Grill continued to stamp its class in the 38 and above category, winning five games in as many matches so far.

Adgrande/Wed defeated Fluxx, 94-68, as Art Andres finished with 22 points in leading Adgrande to win no. 4, while handing Fluxx its fourth loss in five games and virtually eliminated the squad in the tournament.

North Rack blasted Progirls, 72-52, as Justine Estanol scattered 16 markers while leading his squad to its fourth win in five games of Group A.

In the 38 and Above Division, AMG/Nichi whipped Ybalai, 97-80, as Rob Rueda came away with solid numbers of 22 points and 10 boards.

In the Novice category, Wednesday Group upstaged the Robins, 92-86.
