THE Office of the Ombudsman indicted on Tuesday ex-Caloocan City representative Luis Asistio for alleged involvement in an P8-million pork barrel fund scam 11 years ago.
Four counts of graft, two counts of malversation and two counts of falsification of public documents have been filed against Asistio before the Sandiganbayan.
Ex-secretary Esperanza Cabral of the Department of Social Welfare and Development as well as two others—Mateo Montaño and Leonila Hayahay, and Cenon Mayor of the Kaloocan Assistance Council Inc. were included in the charge sheet.
Asistio was a lawmaker from 2004 to 2010.
The graft and malversation raps stemmed from Asistio’s approval of disbursement vouchers for ghost projects.
