THE Office of the Ombudsman axed on Monday an incumbent mayor from Bislig City, Surigao del Sur for grave misconduct over the anomalous purchase of a hydraulic excavator worth P14,750,000 in 2012.
Mayor Librado Navarro was also meted out the accessory penalties of cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits and perpetual disqualification for reemployment in the government service.
Also ordered dismissed were bids and awards—committee chairman—administrator Charlito Lerog, BAC members—treasurer Roberto Viduya, planning development coordinator Aprodecio Alba Jr., general services officer Felipe Sabaldan Jr., budget officer in charge Belma Lomantas, engineer Lorna Salgado and legal officer Daisy Ronquillo, and technical working group members—acountant Raquel Bautista, Gilbert Abugan, Laila Manlucob and Estefa Mata.
