An assistant director of the Civil Service Commission in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CSC-ARMM) has reportedly been killed in Marawi City on Thursday morning.
Initial report says, the CSC official was hit by stray bullet near the gate of the Mindanao State University (MSU).
The victim's companion, said to be the director of CSC-ARMM, was also hit by stray bullet and was wounded.
The two government officials were located a few meters away from the MSU gate when the incident took place.
Under heavy security, MSU resumed the holding of school classes last August 22, 2017 amid the fighting in the city between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Maute terrorists.
