China’s major developer Landing International Development will build a multi-billion dollar theme park in the Philippines, and turn Metro Manila’s hub into a world-class Leisure and Theme Park Integrated Resort.
Yang Zhihui, chairman and executive director of Landing International Development Limited, recently met with President Rodrigo Duterte where they discussed the proposed five-year development program that includes reclaiming 147 hectares of the Manila Bay, an ambitious project to be undertaken by Landing International in the country.
The Philippines—a popular holiday destination for Chinese visitors, will be considered as the main tourism resort in the capital, with luxury hotels, a shopping center, a theme park, villas and flats, as well as gaming entertainment and other leisure and entertainment facilities.
Yang said the multi-billion dollar venture is a three-phase project that is expected to generate jobs for thousands of Filipinos.
“Following our first meeting with the President in May 2017 in Hong Kong to discuss investment opportunities in the Philippines, we are pleased to share with President Duterte our vision for tourism in the country and our proposal to build an iconic branded theme park integrated resort on the Philippines that all Filipinos will be very proud of,” Yang said.
He said the resort will feature Asia’s first movie-themed indoor park and waterpark as well as many other leisure and entertainment facilities suited for all ages and families.
Yang also made an assurance that when opened, the theme park will enhance Philippines’s tourism appeal, complement the existing tourists attractions and resorts as well as create significant employment opportunities for the locals as well as returning Filipinos who are currently working overseas.
Landing International is currently developing the first and largest iconic entertainment destination resort, the Jeju Shinhwa World, in Jeju, Korea.
The 2.5 million-square meter leisure park in Jeju, Korea, will be the first premium integrated destination resort in that country.
Landing International also owns Les Ambassadeurs Club, a leading premium gaming club in London, UK, with 45 gaming tables with several features, VIP rooms and the largest outdoor gambling zone in London.
