Despite its location,  the tropical depression will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon and spawn heavy rains in the National Capital Region.

“However, there is no chance for the tropical depression to re-enter PAR,” she said.

“If it does not change its direction, it is moving toward China or Vietnam.”

It was estimated at 270 kilometers northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte “or outside PAR” with maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph.

Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s sypnosis, the southwest monsoon is affecting the western section of Luzon.

A severe tropical storm named “Sanvu” was spotted also outside PAR at 2,185 kms east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon “or outside PAR” with maximum sustained winds of up to 110 kph and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

According to Ignacio, two to four typhoons have been forecast to enter PAR in September. (RIO)
