Property developer Megaworld Corp. said Thursday it will open the P2-billion Southwoods Mall within the 561-hectare Southwoods City project in Laguna province in October.
Megaworld said in a disclosure to the stock exchange the three-level Southwoods Mall, its 14th lifestyle mall, would have 58,000 square meters of shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure space.
“Southwoods Mall will be easily accessible to those living in the south. It is actually the first big mall along SLEx [South Luzon Expressway] that you can go to after Alabang. We are excited to open the doors of our first full-scale lifestyle mall in the south,” Megaworld Lifestyle Malls head and senior vice president Kevin Tan said.
“We envision this mall to be a major dining destination as we welcome some global dining brands and homegrown restaurant concepts. This will be another showcase of how we want our next lifestyle malls will look like, keeping in mind the distinct character of every township that we build,” Tan said.
Southwoods Mall is strategically located in the rapidly growing communities of Cavite, Laguna, Muntinlupa and Las Piñas.
Aside from its close proximity to SLEx’s Southwoods exit, the mall is surrounded by schools, places of worship, hospitals, government offices and recreational facilities such as the Southwoods Golf and Country Club, Southwoods Sports Club and Splash Island.
“We build our malls and commercial properties to primarily cater to those who live, work and play in our townships. This is what makes our lifestyle malls unique and sustainable,” Tan said.
Southwoods Mall features a food hall, four state-of-the-art cinemas, a department store, supermarket, hardware store, toy store and a transport hub.
