People …are talking about
Joshua Garcia
The 19-year-old Kapamilya is tapped to star in an upcoming TV series and has just wrapped up filming for a movie with Julia Barretto. And it’s only been just a few months ago when we last saw him on TV in another TV drama. There’s no denying that Joshua is the busiest teen actor in town and his star is one of the brightest, too. Even without his brewing romance with Julia, which adds spice to his career, with his talent and looks alone, Joshua can really take off.
Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino
From Wednesday last week until Tuesday this week, movie theaters screened only Tagalog films. And for some interesting reason, moviegoers did not complain. In fact, they gladly watched some of the films featured in the festival and raved about them on social media. The weeklong festival, according to FDCP Chairman Liza Diño had earned P127 million, a figure that exceeded their expectation. But to be honest, the festival would have actually earned more than that if all of the films featured in the festival had the same level of commercial appeal.
My Korean Jagiya
Kapuso’s original series, which sees the network’s collaboration with Korean talents, is doing well in the numbers game. While we are still waiting for Kantar’s data, AGB Nielsen already said that it has trampled its competition. Obviously, Heart Evangelista’s character’s demise in Mulawin vs Ravena paid off as she’s earning some good reviews for her performance in the romantic drama, too.
…are not talking about
John Paul Laxamana
The filmmaker is very proud of his film’s performance at the recently concluded Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. It was named Audience Choice for being the festival’s top grosser. But this feat seemed to have gone into Laxamana’s head already since he antagonizes everyone who tries to criticize his film. Why can’t he accept the fact that he cannot please everybody especially those who saw the film and thought it was a cheap version of 500 Days of Summer and Forrest Gump?
Edgar Allan Guzman
After hopping from one station to another, the actor is now back to “where he belongs.” It can be remembered that from GMA Network (2006-2008) he hopped to TV 5 (2011-2014) and then to ABS-CBN (2014-2017). Now, the actor made a sweeping statement saying that Kapuso Network is the only station that gives him so much importance. We just hope that he stays Kapuso for good because if our memory serves us right he also said that ABS-CBN was the one that gave him the most exposure and importance that his career needed.
Mulawin Vs Ravena
The series is down to its last four weeks and the plot thickens with Dennis Trillo’s character finally becoming the ruler of the Mulawins. You see, they already have a good story at hand, but the only problem, which the series has been facing since day one is its ratings performance. Are we going to see any changes in the last four weeks that Mulawin Vs Ravena will be on air? Maybe if the Mulawins fly like eagles and not like flightless birds, then they can still turn things around.
