Navotas, Fentoda sign e-tricycle deal

Electronic vehicles will soon ply routes in Navotas after the city government signed an agreement with the Unified Federation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association of Navotas or Fentoda and Global Mobility Service Philippines Inc.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco said the agreement will help reduce toxic emissions from tricycles and improve the air quality in Navotas.

GMS will lease electric vehicle or four-stroke engine motorcycles to qualified Fentoda members who could eventually own the units.

Fentoda members who will avail of the tricycle will pay P1,370 monthly and own the unit after a three-year lock-in period.

“Various requirements hinder our tricycle drivers from availing bank loans despite their low interest rates. This MOA empowers them to lease and eventually own a vehicle even without having bank credits,” Tiangco said.
