Philippine Sports Commissioner Charles Raymond A. Maxey, who oversights Mindanao, said this volleyball competition is a project of PSC Chairman William I. Ramirez, providing an avenue for elementary girls students to showcase their skills in volleyball.

“We made this competition an exclusive for elementary girls because they are often left out during Kadayawan tournaments,” Maxey said during the meeting with PSC regional coordinators held recently at the Yellow Fin Restaurant in Davao City.

Cash prizes will be handed out to the top three placers. Champion team will get the P10,000 top purse while the 1st and 2nd runners-up will take home P7,000 and P5,000, respectively.

Maxey said the competition is part of the grassroots program of PSC which aims to discover future talents in volleyball.

Parade shirts will be provided for the 10 teams. Aside from that, they will also be given transportation allowance, free food, and certificates.

Ramirez is the keynote speaker while Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has been invited to grace the ceremony
