Filipinos continue to show their trust in ABS-CBN News as they tuned in to the country’s largest news organization’s multiplatform and immersive coverage of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 24.

On television, ABS-CBN’s Pangakong Pagbabago: SONA 2017 got a national TV rating of 16.6 percent covering urban and rural homes based on data from Kantar Media.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast TV Patrol also led all primetime news programs after the SONA with a 30.2 percent national TV rating.

Kantar Media is a multinational market research group that specializes in audience measurement in more than 80 countries.  It uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes, representing 100 percent of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

This year, ABS-CBN added a few layers to its coverage to give Filipinos a fuller experience of the President’s report on his administration’s achievements and plans for the nation. It introduced the digital TV concept on the special SONA 2017 microsite on ABS-CBN News Online (news.abs-cbn.com/sona2017), which did not just house all special reports and stories related to the SONA but also offered live streaming of the SONA coverage on ABS-CBN, ANC and DZMM, giving netizens the freedom to choose which one to watch.

Netizens also got a closer view of all the happenings as ABS-CBN journalists used their mobile phones to gather and send their stories from the streets, inside the Batasang Pambansa complex, or other key areas in the nation.

ANC also gave a louder voice to the people through a town hall forum moderated by Karmina Constantino and Tony Velasquez, where representatives from different sectors in society got the chance to speak about their expectations on the government as well as give their reactions to the President’s report.

Meanwhile, Filipinos were kept updated about SONA-related issues and topics throughout the day via the news coverages on DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 on AM radio, DZMM TeleRadyo on cable and ABS-CBN TVplus, on ABS-CBN and S+A on free TV, and online on iWant TV.
