Task Force Marawi Spokesperson Captain Joan Petinglay observes, these days, Maute members are just using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) against the soldiers.
Petinglay reports, the Maute members may be unable to augment their supply of weapons because the military has blocked the entry and exit points in Marawi City.
The AFP estimates about 50 terrorists are still fighting in the city.
The terrorists are reportedly holding hostage some eighty (80) civilians.
Government forces continue to rescue residents trapped in Marawi City since fighting began on May 23, 2017.
