The Philippine Printing Technical Foundation Inc., the country’s leading technical association for printers, will kick off its 50th Golden Anniversary with a Grand Triple Affair celebration on July 27, 2017 at the Mindanao Ballroom of the prestigious Sofitel Philippine Plaza.
Under the theme “Golden Excellent Contribution to the Philippine Printing Industry,” the event will feature PPTF’s First General Membership Meeting for the year, Induction of Officers and Trustees (2017-2018) and its 50th anniversary celebration.
Since its humble beginning in 1967, PPTF has seized every change and major shift in the printing industry as an opportunity to evolve, reinvent itself, and remain an active and innovative partner for its members. PPTF aims to develop the Philippine printing industry to the level of professionalism found in other countries where excellent schools are devoted exclusively to the science and art of printing. The Foundation continues to focus on its upgrading seminars and has teamed up with PUM Senior Experts of Netherlands to help develop the standardization of printing skills as mandated by Tesda.
“Fast forward to 2017, the changes within the industry as spearheaded by the Association has been seismic as the scope of its projects and activities developed far beyond expectations as we enter the Asean Era,” says printing and publishing icon, lawyer Dominador D. Buhain, who is currently PPTF president.
The year’s most focused event for printers in the Philippines will have lawyer Alfredo Lim, president and CEO of Pagcor, as guest speaker and inducting officer. During the program, there will be a tribute to past PPTF presidents who will each be given their plaques of appreciation for their respective sterling contributions during their terms of office. The ceremonial cutting of the cake and toast will be led by President Buhain, assisted by past presidents. The colorful event will also feature a product demonstration by major sponsor, Copylandia Office Systems Corporation. Raffles galore will cap the evening and each member and guest? will bring home a special souvenir gift, courtesy of PPTF, Hicor Manufacturing Corporation, DLC Trade Center and Copylandia (Konica Minolta, Riso, Comcolor and Develop).
To put more emphasis on the golden year’s motif and significance, there will be a contest on the best-dressed guys and gals wearing a gold outfit under the ‘Minimally, Substantially and Super Gold’ categories.
Everybody is expected to have a grand time dancing to the music of Gloria and Her Band who will entertain guests with their rendition of nostalgic songs and modern hits as well.
Chairperson of the festive occasion is no less than 1st VP and Head, Membership Committee, Mr. James L. Chu, himself a stalwart of the Philippine printing industry and co-author of the book, “History of the Philippine Printing Industry.”
