Soldiers are conducting pursuit operations against communist rebels in CALABARZON.
This comes following a clash between government forces and suspected New People’s Army (NPA) members in Sitio Bantigue in Mauban, Quezon on Monday morning.

Fighting erupted at about 6 am.
Initial reports say, a squad of the Philippine Army’s 75th Infantry Division is involved.
A soldier has been killed.
He was identified as Corporal Angel Joseph Dela Cruz.
Suspected NPAs are said to have fled the area as reinforcements from government troops arrived.
A few days ago, the military also clashed with suspected NPAs in San Antonio, Laguna.
The communist rebels are also being identified for burning heavy equipment in Lopez, Quezon.
