Man of the World Philippines 2017 Christopher Comicho Dulagan, who is in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Group, at NAIA Terminal 1, will vie in the first edition of the Man of the World pageant, with some 40 candidates from all over the world at the finals to be held at One Esplanade, Mall of Asia Complex, in Pasay City on July 28.
Dulagan, a 23-year-old native of Mountain Province, is the third policeman to compete in an international male pageant after Police Officers Mariano Flormata, Jr., winner of Mr. International 2014 and Don Mcgyver Cochico, a Top 16 semi-finalist in the Manhunt International 2016 pageant.
“I am so excited and proud to represent the country in the first ever Man of the World contest,” said the policeman who was discovered while bringing a snatcher to a precinct in Plaza Miranda, Quiapo.
Man of the World 2017 is the newest male pageant in the world presented by Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS).
“We are very thankful of the support from various stakeholders. We promise to make this pageant something we can be proud of with our main thrust to uplift the male pageantry in the Philippines,” PEPPS President Carlo Morris Galang said during the send-off party for the country’s bet. The pageant with its theme “Celebrating Masculinity with Responsibility,” also aims to focus on its advocacy empowering the youth through education.
Man of the World 2017 has received strong support from the PNP, Department of Tourism (DOT) and the provincial government of Negros Oriental, where the candidates are staying until tomorrow for the swimwear and national costume competitions to be shot in the fine beaches of the province.
The preliminary competition will be held at the House Manila, Resorts World, Pasay City, which includes a Charity Event to further support the pageant’s advocacy and the Talent competition to showcase the candidates’ skills.
Dulagan will be wearing national costume and formal wear by designers Edwin Uy and Olan Roque.
