The Office of the Ombudsman announced on Friday that former presiding justice Edilberto Sandoval of Sandiganbayan will head the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
“SP Edilberto Sandoval assumed office last Wednesday,” lawyer-media relations bureau chief Rawnsle Lopez told reporters.

Sandoval was an associate justice at the Sandiganbayan in 1996, and presiding justice in 2010. He retired from the judiciary in 2011 after serving the anti-graft court for 15 years .
