Power rate this month will go up by 29 centavos per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
This will translate to an additional P 58 in the bill for households that consume an average of 200 kWh a month.
Meralco explains, the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) is selling higher power rate this month, compared to last month.
June’s rate was relatively low at P 3.97 per kWh.
This month, the price of electricity per kWh at the spot market is P 4.49.
