Leyte is still experiencing power outage on Friday.

This comes following the magnitude 6.5 earthquake that hit the province on Thursday afternoon.

Overnight, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded 241 aftershocks.

These minor quakes have ceased by Friday morning but PHIVOLCS Director Renato Solidum is advising residents to take precaution.

Many residents in Kananga, Leyte stay outside their homes for fear of aftershocks.

Queda building, a two-storey commercial building in Kananga, collapsed.

Local officials say, more than a hundred persons are being treated in different hospitals for injuries.
