Ombudsman begins forfeiture moves vs. Ex-PNP Chief Purisima

The Ombudsman has begun the forfeiture proceedings against Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Alan Purisima.

The order came through a consolidated resolution issued by the Ombudsman dated July 4, 2017.

The case in connection with Purisima’s alleged unexplained wealth worth P 29.2 million.

In the resolution, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales ordered the filing of the petition at the Sandiganbayan so that forfeiture proceedings may start against him and his family.

Government, through the Ombudsman, wants to recover the unexplained wealth allegedly acquired by Purisima, his wife Ramona Lydia and children Rainier, Eumir, Alan Junior and Jason.

The Ombudsman is also filing perjury charges against Purisima for his failure to disclose all his properties in his Statement of Assets and Liabilities (SALN) from 2006 to 2014.
