BDO Unibank Inc., the country’s biggest bank in terms of assets, was named Best Bank in the Philippines and awarded with a number of other accolades this year by various foreign financial publications.
The publications that gave the awards include Finance Asia, The Asset, Alpha Southeast Asia and the Asian Investor.
Finance Asia, a Hong Kong-based financial publication, handed BDO the prestigious Best Bank in the Philippines award in the concluded Country Awards for Achievement 2017. Apart from this, the bank also won the Best ECM (Equity Capital Markets) House award, the Best Private Bank for subsidiary BDO Private Bank, and the Best Investment Bank award for its investment banking arm BDO Capital & Investment Corp.
“The competition was extremely tight this year, with numerous financial institutions proving their resilience in a difficult regulatory and banking environment,” Finance Asia said in its statement.
