Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is reminding the public that today is the last day for replacing old peso bills with new peso bills at BSP branches and its authorized agent banks.
BSP Monetary Board Resolution Number 2331 states, BSP and its agent banks will accept old banknotes for replacement only until Friday, June 30, 2017.
BSP Deputy Governor Diwa Gunigundo says, the old pesos bills will lose value by tomorrow (Saturday).
The resolution pertains to peso bills launched in 1985.
What the BSP now recognizes are bills under 'New Generation Currency' which went into circulation in December 2010.
The resolution does not include coins.
The original deadline for replacement of old bills was extended to March 31, 2017.
BSP adds, there will be no more extensions after today.
BSP has 19 branches nationwide.
