THE national karatedo team is set to leave for Germany for a training camp and prepare for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
Philippine Karatedo Federation Raymund Lee-Reyes said around 13 athletes will be sent there.
Reyes said the national squad will be there for around 20 days.
At the same, they will also join competitions in order to get themselves in shape.
Among those going to Germany are Rexor Tacay, Engene Stoner Dagohoy, John Michael Vincent Badil, Jayson Ramil Macaalay and Sharief Afif.
Also going are OJ De los Santos and Mae Soriano.
Then, there’s Carmelo Patricio, Stoner Dagohoy, Erika Samonte, Juna Suqui, Kimberly Madrona and John Paul Dejar.
Reyes said that with the tough field in the Games, they expect to win at least one medal.
He added the morale of the squad is high and they are prepared and now 70 percent ready.
“Ready na sila. Palaban talaga ang team,” said Reyes.
