The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has located the undersea tremor at 8 kilometers southwest of San Francisco town at a depth of 3 kilometers.
The earthquake was at intensity four in Surigao City, San Francisco and Malimono.
Intensity one was felt in Mainit, Surigao del Norte.
