Top-rating and award-winning news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho continues to bring meaningful and entertaining episodes to viewers here and abroad.
In fact, international news magazine television program 60 Minutes Australia recently picked up a story that was produced by KMJS—the segment about Filipino-Australian Joel de Carteret’s search for his biological mother. In April, Liam Bartlett, one of 60 Minutes Australia’s hosts, interviewed Soho about the team’s determination and perseverance to help Joel find his mother. The show also depicted Soho as “Philippines’ answer to Oprah.”
This is not the first time that international programs and news sites took notice of stories that were featured in KMJS. In February, New York-based social news and entertainment company BuzzFeed posted an article featuring Soho’s exclusive interview with Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen.
Also in April, American daily newspaper The New York Times posted an article discussing the breakthrough research and scientific study about giant shipworms in the Philippines. The article mentioned that the international scientists knew about the existence of shipworms after watching it on YouTube last 2010. The YouTube link led to the uploaded segment of KMJS about giant tamilok or shipworms in the province of Sultan Kudarat.
These recognitions all happened within the first half of 2017 and they speak about the world-class standards of the stories being featured in KMJS. KMJS is also a consistent top-rater in Philippine television. And with almost seven million followers in its Facebook Fan Page, KMJS maintains its strong hold in social media by consistently topping the trending list in the Philippines every Sunday night, and by uploading viral social videos, including the video of conjoined twins in Palawan which acquired more than 18 million views as of press time.
Last Sunday, June 18, Soho had an exclusive interview with Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres’ only daughter, Juliana Gomez. The episode also looked into the “Doobi Doobi Dapp Dapp” craze; the truth behind the alleged mermaid that was captured on cam at the Lusok Cave in Calayan Group of Islands; the inspiring story of a mother who saved thousands of pesos worth of coins which she used for her daughter’s enrolment; the romantic story of a widow who found a new love in her textmate; and some rainy day comfort food. Last, but not the least, KMJS celebrated Father’s Day with a moving story of an OFW who surprised his children.
Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho airs every Sunday night, after Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko on GMA-7.
