PNP-NCR holds security forum after rampage at Resorts World Manila

A security forum is being conducted by the Philippine National Police-National Capital Region (PNP-NCR) on Friday following the attack by lone gunman Jessie Carlos at Resorts World Manila (RWM).

The discussions are being held at Conrad Hotel in Pasay City.

Police and firemen, along with hotel operators and security agencies, are tackling the loopholes in the procedures of hotels and similar establishments during emergency situations.

Leading the forum is PNP-NCR Director Oscar Albayalde.

Weakness in the security operation of RWM is seen as among the reasons why the gunman was able to go on a rampage, resulting in the death of 38 persons, including the suspect.

Meanwhile, RWM is planning to open some of its retail outlets this weekend.

It will take time before its gaming operations are resumed pending the investigation on the attack on June 12, 2017.
