Ilocano support

Supporting the call of Ilocano tobacco farmers who have urged the release of six detained employees of the Ilocos Norte provincial government, mayors of Ilocos Norte and their constituents have initiated a province-wide signature campaign and grassroots support as shown in this picture. The so-called ‘Ilocos Six’ were cited in contempt during the investigation of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability on the Ilocos Norte Capitol’s purchase of motor vehicles worth P66.45 million sourced from tobacco excise taxes as an alleged misuse of funds.
