Mitsubishi marks 100 years of car making

Mitsubishi Corp. is celebrating its centennial year of automobile manufacturing in 2017.

The first car ever to be adorned with the three-diamond emblem was the Mitsubishi Model A developed by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Company, one of predecessor companies of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 1917.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. said in celebration of Mitsubishi’s 100 years, it will hold a grand expo on June 8 to 11 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. 

Dubbed as the Mitsubishi 100 Years Anniversary Expo, the motor show promises to excite the public as it brings a one of a kind and truly memorable experience not only to Mitsubishi fans but to any car enthusiasts. 

The Mitsubishi 100 Years Anniversary Expo is open to public from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on June 8 and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 9 to 11 and admission is free.

A century of automobile innovation will be showcased at the expo with the display of the iconic cars, rally cars and MMPC’s current vehicle line-up. MMPC will give each expo visitors a glimpse of the rich history of Mitsubishi and a chance to see actual vehicles that were on display at the Mitsubishi Auto Gallery located in Okazaki, Japan. 

MMPC will bring in the 1937 Race (Circuit Car), 1985 Paris-Dakar Rally winner Pajero #189, WRC Lancer 2005 and the Outlander PHEV which won the 2015 Baja Rally.
