Fifteen (15) of the twenty three (23) senators are fully supportive of President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of martial law in Mindanao.
They are Senate President Koko Pimentel and senators Vicente Sotto III, Ralph Recto, Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, JV Ejercito, Sherwin Gatchalian, Richard Gordon, Gringo Honasan, Panfilo Lacson, Loren Legarda, Manny Pacquiao, Joel Villanueva, Cynthia Villar and Juan Miguel Zubiri.
The lawmakers signed Senate Resolution 388 that finds Duterte’s Proclamation Number 216 to be satisfactory, constitutional and in accordance with the law.
The resolution states that the senators find no compelling reason to revoke the proclamation.
The senate minority bloc will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the resolution passed by the majority of their colleagues.
