Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesperson Restituto Padilla reports, forty to fifty members of the Maute group still lurk in Marawi City.

He, nevertheless, says, “the military has full control of Marawi, but some parts are still subject to clearing operations.”

Padilla reports, as of 6 pm on Sunday, the number of fatalities resulting from the clashes in Marawi had reached almost one hundred.

61 of those killed were Maute group members.

18 lives were lost on government forces.

15 of them were soldiers and three were policemen.

The number of civilians who died stands at 19.

The military has rescued more than 400 civilians from the terrorists.

The AFP believes, Abu Sayyaf leader Isnilon Hapilon is still in Marawi City.

This supposedly explains the heavy defense positions that the Maute group is taking until now, five days after the siege of Marawi by the terrorists began.

Padilla gave these updates during the news briefing in Malacañang on Monday.
