Malacañang will designate a spokesperson from Marawi.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar says, this person will preside over the press conferences on the situation in Marawi where battle is raging between the military and the Maute local terrorist group.
The move is supposedly meant to spread facts on what is truly happening on the ground.
The news briefings will be contained in the ‘Mindanao Hour’ program.
For his part, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella says, ‘Mindanao Hour’ will be aired on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
This program is ongoing at this time (11:00 am) in the palace.
Abella will remain the spokesperson during his regular press conferences on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
During weekends, Abella and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesperson Restituto Padilla will be the ones to give updates.
