Business locators in Caloocan City have become more active based on the collection of business taxes that have entered the city’s coffers, the Business Permits and License Office said Thursday.
BPLO chief lawyer Emmanuel Emilio Vergara, in his report to Mayor Oscar Malapitan, said his office is about to reach its P500-million additional target this year.
Vergara said from the P797 million collected since Malapitan’s term started in 2013, business taxes have increased to more than P1.2 billion in 2016.
Collections for the first quarter of 2017 are also up by 25 percent compared to the same period last year, he added.
Malapitan, for his part, said the increase in tax collection is the manifestation of businessmen’s support and confidence in the present administration.
Meanwhile, a new police community patrol station located on Congressional Avenue, Barangay 173 will be inaugurated on Monday, May 29.
