Weather bureau PAGASA sees the declaration of the rainy season possibly within the last week of May or on the first week of June.
Weather forecaster Gener Quitlong says, the rains that the country experiences these days are brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

He, however, says, if the rains will persist in the coming days, the weather agency may announce the end of summer as early as this coming weekend.
The dry season was officially declared last April 5.
Last Sunday, rains due to a Low Pressure Area (LPA) affected some portions of Northern Luzon.
