The Sandiganbayan has ordered the transfer of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles to the detention cell of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Taguig City.
The order was handed down by the anti-graft court’s First Division.
It grants the motion filed by the prosecution.
Napoles is currently jailed at the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong City.
She had requested that she be detained at the National Bureau of Investigation’s Custodial Center after she was acquitted of serious illegal detention case.
But Sandiganbayan First Division Chairperson Geraldine Faith Econg said it is the BJMP that is tasked to take custody of detained persons who are awaiting investigation or trial.
The First Division is handling Napoles’ plunder and graft charges with Former Senator Bong Revilla over the pork barrel scam.
