Former President Noynoy Aquino has described as “mere rehash” the appeal of a lawyer’s group following the Ombudsman’s dismissal of criminal and administrative charges against him.
This is over the implementation of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP).
In his comment to the motion for reconsideration (MR) filed by the National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL), Aquino urged the Ombudsman to affirm its decision that found no probable cause to charge him in court.
He also noted that the MR lacked merit.
Aquino maintained that his use of the controversial program was “motivated on good faith and a desire to improve the operational efficiency of government.”
The Ombudsman previously junked the cases against the former president but at the same time, it proceeded to charge Former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad with usurpation of legislative powers for having crafted and enforced the DAP.
