Senator Alan Peter Cayetano sees the immediate confirmation of the Commission on Appointments (CA) on his appointment as new Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The lawmaker says, Senator Panfilo Lacson is convincing their colleagues to approve his nomination at once.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya (referring to Lacson) that he is planning the confirmation and nakikiusap sa mga kasamahan namin dahil kasama din sa CA. We work together to speed up the process,” Cayetano said.
The senator is not worried that Duterte will lose a staunch defender in the Senate when he leaves the chamber.
He notes that many members of the Senate majority are allies of the President.
“The President is in good hands sa Senate,” he stressed.
Cayetano is in Cambodia with Duterte who is attending the World Economic Forum today.
