The Metro Manila Development Authority will clear the long stretch of Roxas Boulevard from Manila to Parañaque of illegal structures and terminals.

MMDA General Manager Tim Orbos said yesterday they had already advised owners and operators along the service road that illegally-parked vehicles will be eventually towed by the agency’s towing and impounding personnel or by its accredited towing firms.

Road obstructions such as stalls, bollards and unauthorized signage will be dismantled as well by MMDA personnel, Orbos said.

“Like what we did in Baclaran, we had informed them that the service road should be cleared of obstruction to allow the unhampered flow of traffic. They have no choice but to comply,” he said.

The MMDA official said the Baclaran template is a combination of series of coordination and consultation with various stakeholders in the area, including the barangay and local chief executives concerned, to prevent any untoward incident and ensure that the clearing operations will be done smoothly.

“We have been informing them of President Duterte’s directive to decongest not only Roxas Boulevard but also the rest of the roads and streets in Metro Manila to ease the traffic condition,” Orbos said.

With all the road obstructions and structures cleared, Orbos said motorists can now use the four lanes of the service road from Vito Cruz up to T. M. Kalaw.
