The Manila Police District (MPD) has presented a suspect in the explosion in Quiapo, Manila that took place on April 28, 2017.
MPD Director Joel Coronel named the suspect as Abel Macaraya.
Macaraya allegedly perpetrated the blast along with three other suspects to retaliate against a gang who had supposedly physically abused and assaulted his brother-in-law, who is a minor.
The suspect was allegedly targetting a group called ‘Kalulugan brothers.’
Coronel gave these pieces of information in a press conference on Monday.
He says, a manhunt for the three other suspects is ongoing.
The second suspect has been identified as Raymund Mendoza, allegedly a boyfriend of the minor's sister.
The third and fourth suspects have aliases 'Alimurong' and 'Saro.'
A homemade pipe bomb was apparently used.
During the press conference, Coronel showed the role of each of the perpetrators, through a CCTV footage.
He says, the arrest of Macaraya indicates that the incident in Manila is not related to terrorism.
