41 Filipinos return from Saudi after getting amnesty

Forty-one (41) Filipinos have just  arrived from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

They are part of the 18 families, mostly women and children.

The returned to the Philippines after availing of the 90-day amnesty program offered by the Saudi government. 

Most of the Filipinos have no work permits.

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo says, each of the families will receive financial assistance worth P 5,000.

The aid comes from DSWD and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

About 7,000 more Filipinos are awaiting the grant of amnesty in KSA.
