Raising the bar

The increasing demand from multi-national companies for sustainable real estate developments is fuelling a surge in LEED-registered buildings. LEED, short for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an international green building certification that is gaining traction in the Philippines. At present, there are 245 LEED activities in the country, with 61 projects which have already obtained certification. North of Manila at the Clark Freeport Zone is Global Gateway Clark. Currently, One West and Two West office towers have been pre-certified gold, and these buildings, along with three other office towers, are targeting a post completion certification of Platinum status.
