To be able to enforce the plan, Esperon noted the need for a Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) or a treaty.

This matter will be tackled during a cabinet meeting on May 8.

“We must prepare for a regional integration,” Esperon stressed.

The cabinet member also announced that the Duterte administration has come up with a national security policy.

He added that an anti-terrorism council meets every month.

He believes, the New People’s Army continues to be the biggest threat to the Filipinos’ democratic way of life.
