Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada will join Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial today at 9 a.m. for the nationwide launch of the Department of Health’s May Measurement Month 2017 or MMM17, a nationwide blood pressure screening program which is part of the celebration of the 8th National Hypertension Awareness Month.
To drum up awareness on hypertension and prove he is still in the pink of health, Estrada will have his blood pressure checked, along with Ubial and board of directors and members of the Philippine Society of Hypertension and Philippine Heart Association.
After the ceremonies, Estrada will join Ubial in a media conference where he is expected to talk about his support to the MMM17 as well as the current health programs of the city government.
Estrada will also discuss other concerns regarding local and national issues. They include the recent Quiapo bomb blast, the secret detention cell at the Manila Police District Station 1, the three members of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau who were found positive for drug use, US President Donald Trump’s White House invitation to President Rodrigo Duterte, the charges filed against Duterte before the International Criminal Court, the series of New People’s Army attacks, and the West Philippine Sea dispute, among others.
The event will be held at the Bulwagang Katipunan of Manila City Hall.
