Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairman Andres Bautista reminds the public that the ongoing registration for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Barangay elections will be only up to this coming Saturday only (April 29).
He says, there will be no extension and the period will end promptly at 5 pm.
Comelec local offices nationwide are open today and on Friday.
This is despite Malacañang's announcement of suspensions of work for the cities of Manila, Makati and Pasay on Thursday and all over Metro Manila on Friday in view of the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Summit.
Bautista reports that so far, about 2.2 million voters have registered for the SK and Barangay elections in October this year.
He is advising the public to avoid the overcrowding in Comelec outlets on the last day of registration.
Registration period began on November 7, 2016.
