Tropical depression “Dante” won’t bring cold weather to PH

Tropical depression ‘Dante’ has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

PAGASA weather forecaster Bennison Estareja says, the storm is currently located 1,170 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph.

This is the fourth storm to enter the country this year and second for the month of April.

The archipelago, however, will not experience any respite from the warm summer weather because “Dante” is not expected to make landfall.

Estareja says, it is normal for storms to pass through the country even during the dry season.

He recalls that in April 1971, three storms hit the Philippines.
