Local government has placed Clarin, Bohol under a state of calamity.
This comes following the firefights with Abu Sayyaf bandits.

The latest clash occurred last Saturday evening.
Three of the bandits were killed by soldiers in Barangay Caboy.
Their guide, Bohol native Joselito Melloria, was shot dead by government troops in the adjacent village of Barangay Bacani.
As of now, the military is pursuing three more Abu Sayyaf members.
Several barangays in Clarin have been affected by the armed clashes.
Many residents are crowding in evacuation centers.
There were reports that ASG bandits attempted to take hostages but they were thwarted by the soldiers.
