BIR files P 38M tax evasion case vs. actor Richard Gutierrez

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed tax evasion charges against actor Richard Gutierrez.

Based on the complaint filed by BIR at the Department of Justice (DOJ), the actor and his production company allegedly owe government a total of P 38.57 million in unpaid taxes.

Gutierrez and his production company, R Gutz Production Corporation, where he sits as president, reportedly failed to submit income tax returns and pay income tax in 2012.

The P 38 million includes surcharges and value added tax.

BIR claims, it sent Gutierrez the result of its findings in 2013 and twice this year but the agency did not have receive any response.
