The three are among the five Malaysians kidnapped by the bandits off Lahad Datu in Sabah on July 18 last year.

The victims were on a tugboat when they were forcibly taken by the ASG.

Government troops were able to rescue the 3 Malaysians in Barangay Punay, Panglima Estino in Sulu as a result of the military operations in the province.

The Malaysians have been brought to Jolo.

The other two Malaysian hostages were rescued from their captors last week.
